Working closely with the second chef, the menu will be written with seasonality, world events and celebrations in mind. Our job as Contract Caterers is to educate the children in World foods, cultures and customs. Broaden the horizons and palettes of the next generation, whilst maintaining the Company Ethos of using fresh ingredients. There are boarders on site, so imagination for different breakfast items will be beneficial. We have match tea's and parent interactions so a knowledge of pastry and baking would be advantageous Job description of the role.: The Chef Manager for Wilson Vale is responsible for overseeing the culinary operations within a catering facility that provides food services to our clients, wither in a corporate offices, educational institutions, healthcare facilities. This role combines culinary expertise with managerial skills to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality meals to our clients while adhering to specific contractual agreements, food safety and health & safety policies. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES THE FOOD & DETAIL To be imaginative and innovative, ideas and innovations adapted to suit customer needs. To use fresh ingredients and cook ‘little and often’ during service. To manage the detail of front of house presentation. Implementation of promotions and special days to enhance offering. If any changes or substitutions to ingredients are made to the dishes prepared please ensure that the Manager and all staff concerned are informed and menus must be amended to incorporate these changes To carry out customer satisfaction programs. To undertake special projects as outlined by the Area Manager. To develop good client relations and attend meetings if appropriate. Preparation of the menu planning and presentation YOUR TEAM & TRAINING: To lead and motivate the catering team, to instil a ’nothing is to much trouble’ approach. All staff to be trained so that multi tasking can be achieved to ensure the smooth running of the Unit to allow for a self covering unit where possible and for staff to experience other roles. To constantly motivate staff, encouraging them to bring new ideas and look at new ways of completing tasks. Timely managing of staff to ensure that tasks are completed in the allotted time to ensure efficient running of the unit. To recruit, train and develop the staff under your control. To identify training and development needs through the review and appraisal systems. To prepare and undertake a training program for your team.
