SEN Teaching Assistant (Key Stage 2)

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and inclusive primary school in Seaford. This is a full-time position supporting Key Stage 2 (KS2) students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for KS2 pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and other learning needs.
- Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailor support to meet specific student needs.
- Support the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Use creative strategies and resources to engage and motivate pupils.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents where necessary.
- Foster independence, resilience, and confidence in pupils through personalized support.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a primary school setting.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
- Knowledge of KS2 curriculum and strategies to support SEN pupils.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEN-specific training) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
