The Diocese of Chelmsford Vine Schools Trust is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Headteacher to join our team at St Leonard's Church of England Primary School, Southminster, starting January 2025.
As the Assistant Headteacher in Key Stage 2, you will work closely with the Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team to drive school improvement and make a lasting impact on our pupils' educational journey. You will play a vital role in formulating the school's aims and objectives, implementing a rich and varied curriculum, and ensuring the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning across the school. By taking the role as DDSL, you will also be responsible for continuing the excellent work already in place to safeguard the children at our school.

* A passionate and experienced educator, dedicated to providing the highest standards of education.
* A motivated and innovative educational leader with strong curriculum knowledge and a proven track record of outstanding teaching practice.
* Experience in a leadership role within a primary school setting.
* Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and children.
* A commitment to inclusivity and the holistic development of every child, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A sound understanding of the safeguarding and welfare needs of children and preferably experience in the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Lead as a Phase Leader, collaborating with staff to ensure every child thrives.
* Oversee the development and implementation of school improvement plans in partnership with the Headteacher.
* Model excellent teaching practices, mentor and support staff, and promote a culture of continuous professional development.
* Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead, taking a proactive role in safeguarding.

Southminster C of E Primary School is located about 3 miles from Burnham on Crouch and 10 miles southeast from Maldon. St Leonard's Church is located in the centre of the town and lies close to Southminster C of E Primary School. The school enjoys a close relationship with the church. At Southminster School we all work together to recognise individual needs and support every child.
