This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and skilled librarian who is interested in a career in the NHS to join our Library and Information Service.
The post holder will be based in one of our libraries (Durham, Middlesbrough, Darlington or Scarborough), this could be negotiated depending upon where is the most convenient.
The post is full time, but part time and/or job share arrangements will be considered.
You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a qualified librarian who has expertise in literature searching skills, experience working with library systems, electronic resource provision and knowledge management principles.
This successful candidate will develop and deliver training to staff to support them to provide evidence-based health care across the trust and be involved in the marketing of the service.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and IT skills, the ability to work as part of a team and independently and to be able to travel to trust sites when required.
Job responsibilities

Qualifications
* Degree in librarianship or information science OR degree in other subject with a postgraduate qualification in librarianship or information science
Experience
* Practical experience of librarianship/information work
* Experience of using electronic information resources
* Use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Experience of health information work
* Delivery of training to small groups
Skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Good level of IT skills
* Able to demonstrate a creative and flexible approach to work
* Well-organised, ability to balance and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines, whilst retaining attention to detail.
