Who you are The Associate General Counsel – Operations & Enablement reports into the VP & General Counsel, Commercial & Operations and is part of the Commercial, Operations, Legal & Risk (COLR) function, as well as being a member of the Cytiva Legal Leadership Team, and will provide leadership and support in the following areas across Cytiva. The role will be located in Amersham UK or Marlborough USA and will be an on-site role. What you will do: Operations Business Partnership – working closely with the COO organisation and specifically with Operations Leadership (including Supply Chain, Sourcing, Manufacturing Excellence, and Real Estate) to help develop strategic plans and provide sound legal advice relevant to Cytiva’s Operations activities worldwide (agnostic of OpCo). Functional and Business Enablement – working closely with Associate General Counsel, Commercial as well as other parts of Commercial, Operations, Legal & Risk (COLR) function and broader Legal & Compliance function to build and deploy standard work and process improvement to drive functional and business enablement. Corporate Governance – advise on strategic corporate governance topics, as well as support Cytiva companies’ compliance with Subsidiary Management Policy and related tools and processes, including Standard Work around Powers Of Attorney, Board Meetings etc. Sourcing – supervise Legal support for Cytiva-wide strategic indirect suppliers (including the management of supplier disputes) and Supplier Quality; drive partnership with Direct Sourcing to enable effective and efficient OpCo Legal support. Team Leadership Legal Operations – Lead the Legal Operations Team and partner with Cytiva Legal Leadership and other functions to provide first class legal support to Cytiva; engagement of external counsel (outside of IP Operations). Maintenance of Function intranet / T&Cs / Cytiva Legal intranet. Budget monitoring and management. Management of key Legal tools, leverage of AI, technology, subscriptions. Paralegal Group – Manage and coach paralegal resources to be available across the Cytiva to handle high volume / low complexity work such as: NDAs Indirect sourcing T&C updates Training material updates Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead and/or provide strategic input on key projects to support and improve the effectiveness of the Legal function. Collaborate with legal and compliance professionals across Cytiva and Danaher to seek opportunities to continuously improve the Cytiva Legal Function. Drive thoughtful DBS adoption and, in collaboration with others across COLR, set standards for “good” across Cytiva and Danaher. Who you are: JD (or equivalent) with active bar membership (or equivalent). Minimum of 10 years PQE (post qualification experience). Significant business law experience at a large law firm or corporate legal department, including but not limited to drafting, negotiating and closing complex business transactions in a regulated environment (i.e. purchase, sale and distribution agreements), preferably with experience gained in the healthcare or life sciences industry Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within Legal function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas Leadership experience: has at least 5 years leading team members balancing execution through others with inclusiveness, leveraging expertise, clear thinking, imagination, and external focus.
