Are you a dynamic, forward-thinking, and self-motivated Dermatology Nurse who wants to come and join our friendly supportive Community Dermatology Team?
This is an exciting opportunity to be in a leading role delivering high quality care and providing support to community dermatology patients and their families and helping to develop- and expand our service. The community dermatology team offer a variety of clinics so patients from birth upwards can choose where they would like to be seen. The team consists of GPs with extended roles as well as a team of Nurse Specialists who run clinics for patients with diagnosed skin conditions. We plan care, treatment regimes an provide emotional support as well as supporting self care strategies. current working hours of the service are Monday to Friday 0800-1700 and we see from birth upwards.
Main duties of the job
To work independently and with the BNSSG Dermatology Team across the organisation and in partnership with secondary care
To provide specialist dermatology nursing care in a variety of settings by undertaking holistic assessment and following guidelines and protocols
To deliver nursing management of dermatological conditions in a range of settings, working in partnership with other health care providers at times
To contribute to setting standards of care and auditing clinical outcomes and service provision across the organisation.
Where appropriate prescribe for patients using independent or supplementary nurse prescribing or request changes in medication directly from the patients GP or Consultant.
To make referrals to other health care professionals or agencies where appropriate. Maintaining effective communication and feedback to the original referrer.
To ensure effective delivery of service and adhere to all policies of the organisation by prioritising, organising and delegating appropriately, responsibilities and workloads.
Adhere to all policies of Sirona care & health.
Comply with Local and National Policies and NMC guidelines
To take responsibility for and comply with existing drugs policies regarding administration and custody of medicines and be aware of legislation, NMC guidelines and BDNG (British Dermatological Nursing Group Guidance)

Essential
1. Ability to build and foster effective working relationships at all levels across primary and secondary care
2. Able to work without supervision at times to achieve the objectives of the post and prioritise workload
3. Able to make valid clinical decisions, working with in agreed guidelines and protocols for practice
4. Has evidence of ability to develop and maintaining relationships with team members, the wider primary health care team and external agencies and organisations
5. Patient assessment skills
6. Has evidence of ability to apply critical appraisal to develop evidence based practice
7. Advanced communication skills; verbal, non-verbal, written and electronic
Desirable
8. Previous experience in dermatology or evidence of real interest in this area of nursing
9. Ability to make verbal presentations to a variety of audiences

12. Registered General Nurse
13. Demonstrate on-going training and professional development
14. An awareness of developments of dermatology services in primary care nationally as well as locally
