Metal Preparation Operative
Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are seeking individuals to join our clients metal preparation team in a metal preparation role. The ideal candidate will have experience with band saws, drill, hydraulic punch, presses and other hand tools and grinders preferably in a metal working environment.
This role involves the preparation of metal using various automated and manual equipment, ensuring that all work meets the highest quality standards.
Duties:
To take raw material (steel, aluminium and stainless steel) and follow cutting lists to prepare the material.
Good Mechanical skillset
Machine operation (forklift, crane), (desirable not essential)
To prepare metal of varying materials in accordance with the latest cut lists and drawings and instructions
Maintains tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations
After reviewing cut lists, drawings and specifications determine what materials and equipment are needed for a given job
Communicates any unsafe conditions or accidents promptly
Improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide seamless customer service
Qualifications:
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various band saws, drills, hydraulic punches, presses and other hand tools effectively.
Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations are essential.
Ability to read engineering drawings and follow technical instructions a distinct advantage.
Salary:
Hourly Rate: £12.00 per hour
