BMS Engineer – West London – Data Centre We are currently partnering with a bespoke Fire, Security and IT Solutions design, installation and support provider operation on Major Construction and Mission Critical projects across Europe. Due to continued success, they are seeking a BMS Engineer to join them on a Data Centre Project in West London. Responsibilities BMS Design and System Integration: The BMS Engineer is responsible for designing and integrating the Building Management System into the data centre’s infrastructure. This involves selecting appropriate control systems for HVAC, lighting, fire safety, security, and energy management. The engineer ensures that the BMS integrates seamlessly with other critical systems within the data centre to optimize performance and energy efficiency. Monitoring and Control of Critical Systems: The BMS Engineer monitors and manages the operation of critical building systems, such as cooling (HVAC), fire alarms, power management, and access control, ensuring they function optimally. They use the BMS to track system performance, detect faults or inefficiencies, and take corrective actions to maintain a stable, secure, and efficient environment for the data centre. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: The BMS Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing faults in the BMS, as well as conducting routine maintenance on the system. This includes identifying and resolving issues with sensors, controllers, software, and other components that may affect the building's operational efficiency or compromise the reliability of data centre operations. Energy Efficiency and Sustainability: A significant responsibility of the BMS Engineer is ensuring the data centre's energy usage is optimized for both performance and sustainability. This involves configuring the BMS to monitor energy consumption, implement energy-saving measures, and ensure compliance with environmental standards and certifications, such as LEED or other green building certifications. Documentation and Reporting: The BMS Engineer maintains thorough documentation of the BMS setup, configurations, and any changes made during installation or operation. They also provide detailed reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and any issues or upgrades required. These reports are crucial for both ongoing operations and regulatory compliance.
