Support Worker Required Ref no 18394 INDSUE We are looking for a bubbly, enthusiastic and organised person to join our permanent team of support workers to provide a flexible support service to an young adult female with cerebral palsy living in her own home. Acting in an enabling capacity, the role will be to help organise appointments, days out and correspondence; and motivate and support the client in accessing leisure, health and social services, as part of an individual programmed plan. You will be providing 2:1 care with other members of the team. Assisting with personal care needs, the safe administration of medication including PEG feeding, completing daily records and experience in moving and handling required, the client has a ceiling track hoist. Simple cleaning tasks will also be needed. Previous care experience is essential and it is desirable to have worked in peoples own homes. You must also have experience of working with people with complex needs and behaviours that may challenge. The successful applicant should be able to work well with others and respect cultural differences. Full driving licence is essential as you will be expected to drive the clients vehicle to access leisure activities. Hours of work 30 hours per week Monday 4pm - 9pm Wednesday 4pm - 9pm Saturday 8am - 6pm Sunday 8am - 6pm (extra hours may be needed in the college holidays and to cover holidays/sickness) Rate of pay Weekdays £15.50 per hour Weekends £18.50 per hour Due to the nature of the role an enhanced check with the disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
