We are seeking a highly skilled HSE Advisor to join our team at a construction site in South Kilmarnock, Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead and manage Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) aspects within a key business line at a project level. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring safety compliance and best practices from Civil Work to final commissioning for a GRID business project.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the Main Point of Contact for EHS matters in the project.
* Report to the Regional EHS Leader and Global EHS Business Line Leader.
* Stay updated on regulatory changes and assess their impact on business operations.
* Implement company and regulatory EHS expectations at the project site, workshops, and customer sites.
* Work closely with operational teams and contractors to promote EHS performance and culture.
* Consolidate and report EHS project data.
* Establish a structured EHS operating rhythm, including incident calls and reviews.
* Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs as needed.
* Assist in incident investigations, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
* Oversee internal and external EHS reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Ensure full legal compliance within the business line in the project.
* Conduct EHS audits to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and drive resolutions.
Requirements:
* Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related EHS discipline from an accredited university.
* Country-specific EHS accreditation is required.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS program development and leadership, preferably in electric power or similar industrial sectors.
* Expertise in EHS program implementation within operating assets and teams.
* Strong knowledge of environmental regulations covering air quality, water quality, hazardous chemical management, and industrial safety.
* Proficiency in key health & safety programs, including:
o Lockout-Tagout-Try (LOTO)
o Confined Space Safety
o Electrical Safety
o Hazardous Chemical Management / Process Safety Management
* Professional certifications in safety, environmental management, or industrial hygiene (preferred).
* Proven ability to drive exceptional EHS performance through program development and implementation.
* Strong consulting skills with the ability to influence, engage, and motivate teams.
* High energy, motivation, and commitment to achieving safety excellence.
* Fluency in English (oral and written communication skills required).
* Ability to analyze technical reports and regulatory documents, make informed decisions, and propose effective solutions.
* Experience managing remote teams and working across diverse cultures.
