An exciting opportunity has arisen at Gudge Heath Lane Surgery for one or two accomplished, highly motivated Practice Nurses to join our friendly and forward-thinking clinical team. The ideal candidate will be registered with the NMC and ideally have experience working within Primary Care.

Main duties of the job
Preferably trained in chronic disease management, but not a deal breaker if not as we would offer training through the practice.

Here you would work alongside a skilled and dedicated team including management, salaried GP, GP registrars, paramedics, nurse practitioner, practice treatment room nurse, HCA, phlebotomists, first contact practitioners (MSK), mental health practitioners, social prescriber, clinical pharmacy team, care coordinator, health and wellbeing coaches, receptionists, administrators, and secretaries.

Job responsibilities
* Cytology
* Family Planning / Contraception
* Removal of Sutures
* Travel Clinic and vaccinations
* ECGs
* Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
* Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
* Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
* Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
* Chronic Disease Management: Special Interest/ responsibilities e.g. in Asthma / COPD / Diabetes or CHD
* Following agreed clinical protocols
* Clean equipment as necessary as per IPC guidelines
* Attend and participate in any practice meetings when required.
* Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post

Person Specification
Experience
* Previous experience working in General Practice / Primary Care
Qualifications
* Current UK professional NMC registration
* Qualification in primary care nursing
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and think logically
* Clinical skills - cervical cytology, travel immunisations, chronic disease management
* Understanding and sympathetic nature
* Ability to work in a team and understand other member's needs
* Skilled use in computer software: EMIS Web, Docman10, ICE, AccuRx
