We are looking to strengthen our Site team with a Temporary Works Co-ordinator and Permit Controller based at our Wanlip STW site north of Leicester.
Position: Temporary Works Co-ordinator & Permit
Location: Wanlip STW
Employment Type: Full-Time - prefer contract but permanent staff also considered.
The Role:
As a Temporary Works Co-ordinator, you will play a critical role in planning, managing, and coordinating all aspects of temporary works at our Wanlip STW project. You will act as a central point of expertise, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, industry standards, and company policies. You will also control all work permits across the site including (but not limited to) Ground disturbance, hot works, hazardous works, Temporary works, and environmental permits.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the coordination, design, and implementation of temporary works across the site.
2. Liaise with design teams, contractors, and site managers to ensure safe execution.
3. Oversee the Temporary Works Register and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
4. Review and approve temporary works designs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
5. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor and assess temporary works installations.
6. Act as the primary point of contact for temporary works matters during project phases.
7. Provide technical advice and guidance to the project team and stakeholders.
8. Compile and issue ready for sign off of all site permits (not exclusively Temporary Works).
The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a proactive approach, and a commitment to ensuring safety and quality.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience as a Temporary Works Co-ordinator in the construction industry.
* Strong understanding of relevant regulations, including BS 5975.
* Competent understanding of temporary works design principles.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills.
* Ability to assess and mitigate risks effectively.
* Relevant Qualifications, e.g. CITB Temporary Works Co-ordinator course.
* Experience in Site Management duties - specifically compiling and issuing of site permits.
Desirable:
* Qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
* Membership with a professional body (e.g., ICE, CIOB).
* First Aid at Work.
* SMSTS.
