Amazon Transportation is looking to hire an experienced leader to join the Amazon Transportation EU Senior Leadership Team, responsible for leading the EU Carrier Management team owning the end-to-end relationship with our carrier partners. This is a great opportunity to lead a pan-EU team and will be part of the core leadership team for the EU business. You will own strategic planning and delivery for all Carrier management activities across the following; 1) Managing all day-to-day carrier interactions ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction, 2) Working with carriers to identify mid and long-term growth opportunities, 3) Ensuring the carrier base can support high volume events and the growth of new businesses, 4) Defining and delivering the 3-yr roadmap and 5) Delivery of the financial plan. As an integral part of the Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) team, the Carrier Management function works across a geographical transportation market. The team works with Amazon’s FCs, Sort Centers, Delivery Stations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Retail and Finance teams and externally with service providers, offering business and logistics expertise to ensure optimal delivery of service solutions. The successful candidate will have a true hands-on approach, strong leadership skills and the ability to lead a high calibre team. This position involve regular interaction with senior leadership (VP) internally and at Managing Director level externally. The candidate will need to be comfortable communicating robustly at that level whilst also working directly with various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization across the Amazon business. Key job responsibilities • On a daily basis owns the end-to-end business relationships with carriers spanning resolution of operational issues to supporting commercial and contractual negotiations. • Owning strategic planning and delivery for high volume events and future volume growth. • Building on an existing team of carrier managers, you will set the standard on culture and leadership, hiring and developing the best to build out a world class team. • You will work across multiple Amazon business units to interface with operations, Legal, Public Relations, Product and Tech teams and be the voice of the carrier. • You will dive deep where required and not be afraid to learn about each stakeholder’s contribution and challenges, whilst maintaining a think big perspective at all times. • You’ll own 3-yr plan/QBR/MBR/WBR communications for your business and write and present documents using information acquired from various stakeholders. Basic Qualifications - Proven experience in business development, supply chain, transportation, or logistics. - Experience building, developing and leading high calibre teams. - Experience of developing relationships and influencing across senior leadership groups in matrix management environments Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree - Experience in Transportation, Freight Forwarding, Procurement and Logistics – a strong plus - Experience of senior leadership in product/operations - Background of owning strategic planning, taking business level objectives and translating to delivery plans - Experience of change management/business launch/growth environments Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
