Role:
The successful applicant will provide a safe working environment across the Art Design and Technology Curriculum in line with the ethos and expectations of the academy.
The post holder will work closely within the subjects taking a direct responsibility for the preparation and requirements of planned lessons and teaching staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The post holder to provide high quality technical support to staff and students within the general Art Design and Technology areas; maintaining high quality teaching environments completing specific cleaning duties on a daily basis, general maintenance of equipment; ordering equipment for Art Design, Photography and Technology including food. General administrative tasks enabling teaching staff to focus on academic duties. Running and maintaining the technology used in the department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical support for teaching staff including assistance in the classroom when required.
2. Co-ordinate the use and development of practical resource and facilities meeting the requirements of the curriculum.
3. Ensure maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment.
4. Keeping up to date with current health and safety procedure.
5. Adhere to the safe treatment and disposal of used materials including hazardous substances and response to actual or potential hazards.
6. The healthy and safe storage and accessibility to equipment and materials
7. Maintain apparatus within each of the technologies (Art, Design and Technology).
8. Provide equipment and materials to support practical lessons and ensure its safe removal on completion.
9. Complete both routine and non-routine checking, cleaning, maintenance, calibration, testing and repairing of equipment are carried to the required standard.
10. Support with compiling orders as well as any last-minute requirements for practical lessons i.e. food tech.
11. Ensure suitable materials are available and on hand, maintain stock levels including doing regular stock takes of the food technology supplies as well as other Art and technology subjects.
12. Maintain up to date records for all equipment and stock, and complete regular checks.
