In addition to being the local plant bread bakery in Gisborne (NZ) and line-hauling products to the Wairarapa (NZ), the Group has bread crumb and powder blending plants in Dunedin, Melbourne (VIC), and Bathurst NSW.
The largest plant in the Group is based in Idaho USA and blends batter powders specifically for French fries. The Group is fully supported by our technical facilities based in Auckland NZ and the USA.

About the Role
The Production Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery within the plant to ensure smooth production operations. The role is crucial in achieving production targets while adhering to safety, quality, and food safety standards.
Key Areas of Focus
* Efficient operation and maintenance of blending and drying machinery.
* Compliance with safety and quality standards.
* Collaboration with the production and quality teams.
Key Accountabilities
Health and Safety
* Follow all Work Health & Safety (WHS) protocols and collaborate with the WHS Manager.
* Ensure compliance with company safety policies and WHS legislative requirements.
* Regularly communicate with the H&S team to maintain a safe working environment.
Plant Operation
* Set up, operate, and monitor machinery for blending and drying processes to ensure efficient production and product quality.
* Perform troubleshooting and adjustments on machinery to meet production targets.
* Conduct routine inspections and report mechanical issues to the Plant Manager.
* Ensure proper handling of mixers, conveyors, dryers, and other equipment for optimal production.
Quality Control
* Maintain product quality by adhering to company standards and food safety regulations.
* Perform quality checks and assist in identifying product non-conformances.
* Keep accurate records of production batches, including ingredient quantities, production times, and any issues encountered.
* Work closely with the Quality Manager to ensure proper handling of materials, ingredients, and finished products.
Production Support
* Collaborate with the Production Supervisor for a smooth transition between shifts.
* Monitor production processes, adjusting settings to maintain product consistency and quality.
* Participate in daily toolbox meetings to ensure clear communication between departments.
* Assist in coordinating production schedules to meet operational and customer demands.
Qualifications
* Experience in Food Safety and Quality in a manufacturing environment.
* Valid forklift license.
