Position: Lead E2E Architect
Location: London or Manchester – hybrid working model (2 days office based, 3 days remote based)

The Lead E2E Architect works within the Chief Technology Officer organisation and reports to the Head of Network Infrastructure within a key program. The Lead E2E Architect’s key responsibility includes assuring the design of the proposed solutions by our service providers against the DCC’s requirements and supporting the program in progressing the design through both internal and external governance processes. The Lead E2E Architect will work with solutions specialists within his team and SMEs in other teams to assure the proposed solutions from design and implementation to delivery from the E2E perspective.
What will you be doing?
1. Owner of the E2E system design for the communication and network program.
2. Be the technology lead on NEP CHN Total Systems.
3. Lead the technical workshops and other engagements with both internal and external stakeholders (Bidders, Service Providers, BEIS, Industry, etc.).
4. Provide upcoming technology insights and out-of-the-box thinking in the strategic decision-making process.
5. Engagement within DCC as Total Systems expert to facilitate the decision making on technical issues.
6. Present solution designs to Cross Functional Design Authority (CFDA) and progress through both internal and external governance.
7. Engagement with BEIS technical leadership team for design decisions related to NEP CHN Total Systems architecture.
8. Representing DCC position and upholding the DCC’s principles in industry forums.
What are we looking for?
1. In-depth understanding of UK Smart Metering Implementation Program (SMIP).
2. Strong architecture background with the ability to create conceptual architecture before delving into detailed logical and physical architectures.
3. Experience of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
4. Experience of modelling languages such as UML, ArchiMate, and BPMN.
5. Systems/Software engineering background in large scale distributed systems.
6. A self-starting individual with a strong work ethic capable of planning and managing own time effectively. Ability to perform under pressure and to work using own initiative and drive.
7. Creative problem-solving and analysis skills with an ability to identify, develop, and implement solutions to gaps to meet the needs of the business.
8. Excellent verbal and written (including presentation) communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
