We are looking for qualified and insured complementary therapists in massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, holistic facials, and reiki to provide complementary therapy for patients and carers in our In-Patient Unit and Living Well centre. We would also welcome to hearing from those who are trained in the art of Mindfulness/Relaxation/Visualization to help run weekly group sessions. The role includes: Being committed to delivering high quality holistic care. Working as part of the complementary therapy team. Attending mandatory training sessions, sharing best practice, team meetings, etc. Keeping detailed and accurate records of all interactions. Acting in accordance with the complementary therapy policy, and all procedures and protocols relating to complementary therapy. Attending monthly group supervision and specific on-going education provided by the complementary therapist. Maintaining own professional CPD in line with professional membership requirements. Your Skills and Abilities: Qualifications Applicants must hold a level three complementary therapy training qualification, at least one years’ post qualification experience, undertake regular Career Professional Development (CPD), keep themselves up to date with relevant industry knowledge, be IT literate and hold insurance cover as well as have membership of a professional association (e.g. FHT, CTHA, CNHC). Experience Those working with our patients must have experience of working with clients as a qualified complementary therapist. We welcome applications from both newly qualified therapists and experienced practitioners to work with carers. Those with less than 1 years’ experience may be considered initially for hand and foot therapy, with the potential to upskill to deliver other therapies. Skills and qualities Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse group of patients and colleagues. Understanding the need to take particular precautions in giving therapy to patients with palliative care needs and at the end of life, and the ability to adjust treatments accordingly. Maturity and self-awareness regarding the emotional impact of working with death and dying. Well-organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
