The Anaesthetics Department provides a comprehensive elective and emergency service for a wide range of surgical specialties including maxfax, ENT, general surgery, gynaecology, urology, breast, colorectal surgery and ophthalmology. The Barnet and Chase Farm sites provide high quality perioperative care over 15 operating theatres, interventional radiology, cardiology and endoscopy suites, labour ward, pre-operative assessment clinics, chronic pain sedation and ECT for the Mental Health Unit. Our stand alone elective surgical hub at Chase Farm Hospital is a relatively new hospital, having opened in 2019 and is an exemplar for elective surgery in the region. The hospital is digitally mature and paperless, having achieved elite digital status as a HIMSS 7 hospital in 2022.
