Estimator We are looking for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Estimator from a precision engineering background. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a CNC machining environment, with a solid understanding of engineering drawings, materials, and manufacturing processes. The Estimator will play a key role in determining project costs and ensuring competitive pricing for our products, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency. Estimator Key Responsibilities: Review engineering drawings and specifications to accurately estimate costs for CNC machining projects. Analyse material requirements, labour costs, and production timelines to produce detailed cost estimates. Work closely with the production team to ensure estimations align with manufacturing capabilities. Prepare and present quotes to customers, addressing any questions or concerns. Coordinate with the purchasing team to ensure timely procurement of materials. Track project costs throughout the manufacturing process and ensure adherence to estimated budgets. Provide support to the sales team with detailed and accurate cost breakdowns. Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and other documentation. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive material pricing. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, pricing, and market conditions. Estimator Key Skills and Qualifications: Strong understanding of engineering drawings, with the ability to interpret and analyse technical specifications. Previous experience in an Estimator role within a CNC machine shop or precision engineering environment is essential. Knowledge of CNC machining processes and materials Experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment is advantageous. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to estimating and pricing. Desirable Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field. Experience with ERP or MRP systems. Previous exposure to cost analysis and budgeting in a manufacturing setting.
