This full-time, permanent role presents an exciting opportunity to inspire students and develop their understanding of society, culture, and human behaviour. As a Sociology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons, encouraging students to explore social structures, critical thinking, and contemporary issues. You will work in a supportive and dynamic environment, helping students to develop analytical skills and a deeper understanding of the world around them. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to innovative teaching and student success. While experience is desirable, it is not essential, as professional development opportunities will be available. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging Sociology lessons, aligned with the national curriculum. Teach key sociological theories, research methods, and social issues at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. Inspire students to analyse and debate social structures, inequalities, and human interactions. Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Sociology examinations, providing targeted support. Use interactive and inclusive teaching methods to engage learners of all abilities. Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support. Promote positive behaviour management strategies and student engagement. Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all students. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. A strong knowledge of the Sociology curriculum, including GCSE and A-Level standards. Experience in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential. A passion for delivering engaging and interactive Sociology lessons. Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
