Could you be who we are looking for?
We are recruiting for a new team to support a mother and daughter in the Telford area. This is a really exciting role for someone who loves to support people to have fun and adventures, but also be grounded on home days to help out with life skills.
Our Supported People are looking for kind, patient, and compassionate staff members to support them. It is important to them that Support Workers are pro-active and have a positive attitude. You must be fun, outgoing, and enjoy participating in all activities. You will be supporting weekly visits to theme parks and must enjoy going on the big rides. You should also like animals, especially cats, and enjoy visits to the zoo and safari parks. Do you like swimming and are happy to be in the pool having a good time? Your role will include supporting swimming and other activities.
Honesty and reliability are key values in this service, as changes to plans and routines can be a challenge. You should be prepared to work some longer days to support day trips each week and be ready to assist on holidays and mini breaks. You will need to assist with day-to-day living skills, including looking after the house and keeping it tidy. House management and organisation skills are important. You will also enjoy cooking and advising on nutritionally balanced meal planning.
There will also be an element of emotional and well-being support to ensure that people remain on baseline. Good communication and clear spoken English are essential, as the people you will be supporting may find processing information challenging.
*There are no sleepovers or wake nights in this service unless supporting on holidays and mini breaks. There is no personal care needed.
We are looking for Female Support Workers over 30. Any Male staff will be considered if they are a good match.
*Some of our roles require males, females, race, and age-specific employees only. Where this is indicated, this is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
About You:
Essential Requirements:
* Driver with UK manual licence and own vehicle.
* Need to be adaptable.
* Good communication skills.
* Good IT knowledge/skills/systems.
* Experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities and Autism.
Desirable Requirements:
