The Role
We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Sustainable Transport team. You will have a previous track record in sustainable aviation technologies and fuels, relevant project and programme management experience, and a strong interest in transport and climate policy.
Our work is focused on strategic policy advice covering a very wide range of transport sector issues and plays an integral role in driving regulatory approaches in the UK, Europe and worldwide. Projects are likely to include a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis, stakeholder consultation, survey design/implementation and making policy recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contribute to developing and delivering our growing portfolio of aviation decarbonisation projects and programmes.
2. Lead multi-disciplinary teams in delivering complex consulting projects related to aviation decarbonisation.
3. Lead on business development opportunities and preparing technical proposals.
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sector technology developments, trends, challenges and regulations.
5. Manage, supervise and/or coach junior members of the team.
6. Carrying out a wide range of stakeholder consultation activities.
7. Representing Ricardo and presenting our work at external events.
Key Competencies and Experience
1. Educated to a Master’s degree level or higher in a related discipline.
2. Relevant consultancy or advisory experience.
3. Experience in managing consultancy projects and stakeholder consultation activities.
4. Demonstrated expertise in sustainable aviation fuels and technologies.
5. Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and frameworks.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Great communicator, written and verbally.
8. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
9. Excellent time management.
10. Fluency in English and excellent reporting writing skills.
Desirable Competencies and Experience
1. Ability to utilise existing sector contacts.
2. Familiarity with policy evaluation analysis methods and tools.
3. Understanding of developing quantitative scenarios and models.
4. Understanding of life-cycle assessment (LCA) of fuels.
5. Fluency in other languages from relevant geographies is a bonus.
