What will you be doing?
As a Stress Specialist, you will join our team in Derby to support our activities within the aerospace sector. As part of this exciting venture, you’ll be working on pioneering technologies that power some of the world’s most advanced aircraft. You will contribute to engineering solutions that directly affect the safety, efficiency, and performance of aerospace engines—one of the most critical sectors of global transportation.
Who are we looking for?
* Structural Analysis: Utilise advanced structural analysis methods and tools to assess and optimise critical engine components, ensuring their reliability and performance under extreme conditions typical of turbine engineering.
* Component Analysis: Leverage your expertise in fatigue lifing, crack propagation, and certification requirements to ensure the integrity and longevity of critical engine components such as turbine discs and drums .
* Statistical Analysis: Review and challenge engineering results using sound statistical analysis techniques to ensure data-driven decision-making and validate component performance in demanding aerospace environments.
* Process Improvement: Contribute to the development of innovative engineering methods that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the design, testing, and certification processes for turbine components.
* Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and supervise engineering results, mentoring colleagues, and promoting continuous improvement in technical processes and methodologies.
* Customer Interaction: Serve as the technical representative, presenting critical technical issues to clients during project reviews and technical meetings, fostering strong relationships and ensuring transparency in the delivery of turbine components.

Qualifications
Experience, skills and
qualifications
required:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
* 10+ years of experience in stress analysis, particularly in the aerospace or automotive sectors.
* Proficient in using CAE tools such as Ansys, Nastran, and Abaqus for structural and fatigue analysis.
* Expert knowledge of fatigue lifing, crack propagation, and certification processes related to turbine and engine components.
* Experience leading and mentoring multi-disciplinary teams, with strong customer-facing skills for project reviews and technical discussions.
* Strong understanding of statistical analysis and its application in engineering validation.
* Ability to implement process improvements to streamline design and certification cycles.
