Company Description LGC ASSURE Sports & Specialised Analytical Services is an internationally recognised world-class testing laboratory that specialises in banned substance and anti-doping testing. We operate in 3 key categories: Animal sports medication and doping control, Human drug testing, and Supplement testing and product certification. Job Description We are looking for a committed and proactive Technician to join our Laboratory Support team to provide support to the analytical chemistry teams within LGC Sport and Specialised Analytical Services. Conduct analytical work using appropriate techniques and in accord with regulatory standards, e.g. ISO 17025 Complete all paperwork in compliance with good record keeping principals, correctly and on time. Work in accordance with SOPs. Act in compliance with the site Health & Safety Policy. Be able to accurately communicate with other staff. Be flexible; realise that timelines, priorities and requirements will change regularly and respond to these challenges positively Maintain a clean, tidy and well-equipped work area, observing any operational regulations. Perform Kanban or other stock checks or inventories and place orders as appropriate. Perform in-house calibration and maintenance of equipment including balances, pH meters, centrifuges, incubators, safety cabinets, fridges, freezers and ultrafreezers, water purifiers. Perform general laboratory housekeeping duties, including collection, cleaning and redistribution of scientific glassware and issuing of lab coats and PPE to new starters and collection of lab coats for laundry. Qualifications Educated to GCSE level, acquiring 5 GCSE’s graded A-C (or 9-4). Experience in a regulated laboratory environment is advantageous. Sound computer skills, experience of Microsoft Office.
