The SEN Teacher Role
* Are you a compassionate and dedicated professional looking to make a real difference in the lives of children? We are seeking a Special Educational Needs, SEN Teacher for a vibrant primary school in Tower Hamlets, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
* In this rewarding SEN Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment tailored to the unique needs of each student.
* Your expertise as an SEN Teacher will help develop individualised learning plans that promote engagement, independence, and social skills.
The School
The successful SEN Teacher applicant would be joining a small but outstanding SEN school in Tower Hamlets for children with ASD and SLD needs.
This is an OfSTED rated outstanding special school for pupils aged 2-11 years, who have severe and complex learning differences.
Based in a purpose-built new building in the heart of the inner London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupils' specific needs.
* Develop and implement personalised educational programs.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
* Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
* Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as necessary.
* Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
SEN Teacher Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD.
* Experience working in a primary education setting is preferred.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
