Support Worker (Service Specific), Harrogate
We are recruiting to the support team of a young female customer who is based in Ripon. Our customer has Global Development Delay and uses Makaton and simple words to communicate. She would like someone who can support her with her independence by working towards her goals and aspirations – could this be you?
Our customer loves going on walks and going swimming, so you will need to be able to participate in these activities with her. She is also keen on crafts, so if you have artistic talents, our customer would love you to share this with her. You will also be continuing with your support to her whilst she attends local day services.
Due to our customer having support needs with personal care, only female applicants can be considered. This is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
This customer is supported 5 days a week, working between the hours of 10 am till 5 pm, so you must be available for work during these times. Of course, there will be an opportunity to work with other customers here at Avalon if you are available to work more hours outside of these times.
You don’t need to have any experience as our in-house training team will ensure that you have all the additional skills you need to deliver the role with confidence, but you do need the drive and compassion to help our customers to live great lives.
Who are we?
