An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced sonographer to join our departments at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is one of the largest NHS organisations in the UK, responsible for the promotion of health and wellbeing of people living in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.
The health board delivers a comprehensive range of sonography services including obstetrics, gynae, general, vascular, small parts, paediatrics and musculoskeletal ultrasound.
The health board has fully integrated RIS / PACS and a digital dictation system for online reporting.
The ultrasound department provides the use of up-to-date equipment.
The successful candidate will be based at the University Hospital Llandough, with rotation to the University Hospital of Wales.
Main duties of the job
As a band 7 sonographer, you will be expected to produce high quality diagnostic images and reports. Good organisational and communication skills are essential to ensure a safe and efficient workflow and provide a high quality service to patients and colleagues. A commitment to clinical teaching and audit will be expected to develop the team and department. Continuous professional development is actively encouraged.
All applicants must be registered with the HCPC and hold a DMU or PG diploma in medical ultrasound. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* DMU/ Post graduate diploma / MSc in Medical Ultrasound
* HCPC registered
* Experience in ultrasound imaging techniques and reporting ultrasound scans
* Experience within another NHS organisation
