Gambling Engagement Practitioner

* Job Type:Full-time, 35 hours per week
* Salary:£27,864 per annum
Reed are seeking a dedicated Gambling Engagement Practitioner to join our client based in Sunderland. This role involves facilitating referrals, providing advice, guidance, assessment, and structured interventions to individuals experiencing difficulties with gambling. The successful candidate will also engage key stakeholders, publicise the service, and develop a network of Community Champions to address gambling-related harm.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Strengthen and develop new referral pathways to standardise access to support and onward referral.
* Promote, arrange, and deliver a range of community activities including networking events, training sessions, and dissemination of information resources.
* Deliver training packages to educate communities on identifying gambling harms and signposting to support/treatment.
* Develop and sustain ongoing relationships with community partners and wider networks through regular communication and meetings, both in-person and online.
* Provide advice, screening, brief and comprehensive assessments using a stepped care approach.
* Facilitate various interventions such as Brief Interventions, Extended Brief Intervention, Mutual Aid, Relapse Prevention, and Recovery self-help Groups.
* Develop recovery-oriented care plans and coordinate treatment psychosocial interventions including CBT, MI, and the Five Step Model.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience in providing support and interventions
* Knowledge and understanding of issues related to gambling and appropriate interventions
* Strong ability to engage and educate communities and stakeholders.
* Proficient in developing and maintaining referral pathways and community networks.
* Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Relevant qualifications in healthcare, social work, or a related field are preferred.
