The Role:
As a Site Manager, you'll be responsible for planning and organising construction site activities with exposure to an exciting portfolio of projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, industrial, and public sector, leading teams of directly employed and sub-contract labour and ensuring the timely and quality delivery of each of your projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Overseeing all site-based construction activity.
2. Developing and enforcing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for workers.
3. Supervising and directing the construction team to ensure that the project is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
4. Coordinating with engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the construction work meets the project specifications.
5. Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including progress reports, construction schedules, and budget reports.
6. Alongside a Quantity Surveyor, monitoring and controlling project costs, including labour, materials, and equipment expenses.
7. Communicating regularly with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to keep them informed about project progress and any issues that arise.
8. Resolving disputes and conflicts that may arise during the construction process.
9. Ensuring that the site is clean and organized, and that all equipment and tools are properly maintained.
10. Conducting inspections to ensure that work is being done according to plans and specifications.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Either formally qualified with a Degree, NVQ or HNC in Construction Management and/or a suitable trade background (both is a bonus but one or the other essential).
2. Previous Site Management experience working for a main contractor with a varied project base is essential.
