Job Overview The Fibre Optic Assembly Operator will be required to develop a full understanding and working knowledge of the department procedures. They will recommend improvements where possible whilst ensuring quality standards are met and assist the Production Supervisor in achieving all departmental performance criteria, including training. Tasks Summary and Responsibilities - To ensure that assembled connectors meet or exceed all the internal and customer expectations, specifically in terms of Quality and Performance. - To support the Production Engineers in the preparation of complete and concise process specifications and routings prior to production. - To assist in the assembly of prototype and 'first build' assemblies in order to develop and establish robust production methods, where required. - To ensure that all assembly tooling, gauging and testing requirements are identified prior to production. - To identify part shortages and help prioritise the workload to ensure that Products are manufactured in accordance with the visual management system/specs, thereby ensuring on time delivery of goods to the customer. - To inform the departmental supervision of all deviations from the standard build procedures or quality for acceptance/rejection. - To contribute to achieving departmental targets - specifically 'Delivery on Time' and efficiency. - To maintain an excellent standard of workplace organisation, that can be independently audited. - To ensure a positive attitude and good team working is encouraged and supported. - To be self disciplined and work with the minimum of supervision. - To carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Production Manager/Supervisor. - To observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation. - To work to the departmental fundamental rules. - To adopt and sustain a flexible and proactive approach in all departmental work activities.
