Practice Plus Group are pleased to announce that they will be taking over the healthcare contract at HMP Garth, a Category B prison in Lancashire from 1st April 2025.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team there from April. The prison houses around 1500 men with a variety of health needs. Your time will be spent at HMP Garth and there may also be a requirement to work at HMP Wymott, a Category C prison on the same site.
This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week. You will receive an annual salary of between £57,603 and £64,471 depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide-ranging and complex patient problems
* Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team, which is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including mental health and substance misuse practitioners
* Act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times
* Support senior clinicians on site as part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients
* Work with the team to ensure patient safety, the management of complex cases, and the application of the most up-to-date treatment methodologies to patient care

Qualifications required:
* Registered Nurse Adult Mental Health with current NMC or Registered Paramedic with current HCPC
* Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
* MSc in Advanced Practice
* Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
