Sustainably.\n\nRole Overview:\n\nThe purpose of the role is the maintenance of the Siemens Healthineers cyclotron, chemistry modules and isolator. The role will be based at the Nottingham PETNET facility, taking part in maintenance and call outs as part of the cyclotron team to provide radioisotopes for PET radiopharmaceutical production.\n\nThis role is perfect for an engineer who loves to tinker, problem-solve, and immerse themselves in complex electrical and mechanical technology that feels more like a passion than a job.\n\nAs part of a two-person team, you’ll have true ownership of the system and ensure its peak performance.\n\nRole Description\n\nThe Service Engineer services and performs diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of a highly complex Cyclotron Particle Accelerator to deliver the best system performance and minimize disruption to hospitals and patients. The Service Engineer is responsible for the following:\n\n * Provides servicing and maintenance of the cyclotron system and ancillary devices.\n\n * Monitors system performance and resolves system issues.\n\n * Performs in-depth system analysis for repairs and system optimization.\n\n * Performs preventative maintenance per the site PM plan.\n\n * Installs and upgrades a wide range of complex and advanced company products according to technical documentation.\n\n * Able to work in a highly dynamic environment that requires the individual to work a rotating on-call shift, and be flexible for day, evening and weekend work depending on system requirements.\n\n * Able to work in a team environment with little to no direct supervision.\n\n * Training of staff in basic cyclotron operation.\n\nMinimum Required Skills and Knowledge:\n\n * Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\n * Analytical thinking, problem-solving, fault-finding skills.\n\n * Electrical or electro-mechanical engineering experience.\n\n * Experience or knowledge with the maintenance of systems such as pumps, electrical motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics etc.\n\n * Experience with precision tools and diagnostic equipment’s (i.e.
calipers, torque wrenches, DVMs, etc.)\n\n * Willingness to work in a radiation-controlled environment.\n\n * Willingness to work as part of a shift work pattern that includes a requirement to work some weekends.\n\nOther Skills (Not Required but Advantage):\n\n * Experience or knowledge with High vacuum.\n\n * Experience or knowledge with High Voltage.\n\n * Experience or knowledge with Vacuum leak checks/detection.\n\n * Experience or knowledge of RF.\n\n * Experience in the pharmaceutical sector working to cGMP.\n\n * Experience or knowledge of Radiation Safety.\n\n * Experience with computer and LAN systems\n\nSiemens Healthineers will provide extensive training on the cyclotron system\n\nEducation/Experience:\n\n * Degree in Physics or Electrical or Mechanical engineering or similar.\n\n * Higher Technical qualifications with proven electrical/mechanical experience would be considered.\n\nBenefits:\n\n * 26 days' holiday with the option to buy or sell an additional 5\n\n * Up to 10% employer pension contribution\n\n * Share and bonus scheme\n\n * Access to our flexible benefits from private medical insurance to dental cover\n\n * Corporate Social Responsibility opportunities including 2 paid volunteering days per year and support from our 24/7 employee assistance programme.\n\nWho we are:\nWe are a team of more than 71,000 highly dedicated Healthineers in more than 70 countries.
