Finance Administrator Hours: 12 hours per week, working Wednesdays and Thursdays Contract: Permanent Salary: JG4 SCP 07-11 £25,584 – £27,269 Actual Salary: £7,192.67 - £7,666.39 Start Date: As soon as possible, subject to references and DBS The Role Whitchurch Primary School, member of the Lighthouse Schools Partnership is seeking to appoint a Finance Administrator to join our friendly and committed team. Working within the general direction of the Business Manager and Office Manager to undertake a specific range of financial and administration duties which support the management of the school in an effective and positive manner. The successful candidate will be expected to: • Handle all duties relating to the processing of orders and invoices via the finance accounting system, including dealing with queries. Ensuring correct VAT classification when dealing with invoices received from suppliers. Following up non-return of invoices with Budget holders. • Undertake administrative tasks of a general nature, for example filing copies of orders and invoices. • Administration of parent pay including issuing activation letters, uploading/downloading financial information and reports. • Enter and maintain school inventory. • Ensure all work ensure the school’s financial, and MAT procedures are followed. Candidates should have: • 5 x GCSE Grades A - C or equivalent in English and Maths. • NVQ Level 2 or 2 years relevant experience in finance department or an office environment. • One year minimum financial administration experience. • Basic bookkeeping knowledge. • Previous finance experience. • Good organisational skills, to be able to prioritise work and meet deadlines. • Experience in an office environment, either face to face or telephone support for customers. • Able to manage spreadsheets and produce reports and experienced at word processing. • Analysis and manipulation of data for monthly and termly reporting for management information. • You need to be a resilient, dedicated and positive practitioner who can work well within a team and equally show initiative to work on your own. A book-keeping qualification and some experience of working in an educational setting would be desirable, but not essential.
