DSEAR Engineer
Location: South of England
Salary: £48,000 - £59,500 per annum
As a DSEAR Engineer in our AES Business Unit, you will be integral in leading and managing a team of skilled professionals in hazardous areas. You will be responsible for overseeing projects, ensuring strict compliance with CompEx standards, safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) regulations, while also meeting customer requirements. Your specialised technical knowledge, leadership skills, and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders will be crucial in delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of CompEx-certified electricians, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
Coordinate and oversee project delivery works in the water industry, including planning, execution, and monitoring of projects in hazardous environments.
Ensure compliance with CompEx, safety regulations, health and environmental standards, and quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to understand project objectives, specifications, and customer expectations.
Conduct regular site inspections, particularly in hazardous areas, to assess progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
Develop and maintain project schedules, allocate resources effectively, and monitor project budgets.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team, resolving technical challenges and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, implementing best practices, and optimising operational efficiency.
Requirements:
CompEx certification is essential.
Proven experience in the water industry, with a focus on engineering works in hazardous areas.
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, particularly in environments requiring CompEx certification.
Strong knowledge of safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) standards and their application in engineering projects, with a particular focus on hazardous environments.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects within set timelines and budgets.
Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, especially in relation to hazardous areas.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
