HRP’s Farmington and Derby, Connecticut offices have an immediate Hazardous Building Material (Hazmat) Consultant opportunity for an individual with 2 to 5 years of experience. If this sounds like the career move you have been waiting to make and if you meet our qualifications, we want to talk with you Key Responsibilities: This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals to address complex environmental challenges executing the following roles/responsibilities: Hazardous building material surveys for asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, and other hazardous materials. Develop specifications and assist with bid solicitation for asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, and other hazardous materials. Assist with hazardous materials abatement oversight and project monitoring. Assist with industrial hygiene related projects, including personal air sampling, indoor air quality assessment, noise assessments, mold assessments, water intrusion investigation, surface wipe sampling, facility decommissioning, qualitative assessments, etc. Assist with the management of hazardous waste, including waste characterization, training, and correspondence with government agencies. Be motivated, outgoing, and can interact with employees within various industry settings. Requirements: The Hazmat Consultant must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills and be proficient in MS Office products and appropriate professional level software. Specific qualifications for the role include: CT Licensed Asbestos Inspector required CT Licensed Asbestos Project Monitor preferred or willing to obtain CT Licensed Asbestos Management Planner preferred or willing to obtain CT Licensed Asbestos Project Designer or willing to obtain CT Licensed Lead Inspector preferred or willing to obtain CT Licensed Lead Risk Assessor preferred or willing to obtain Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Science or Engineering related field 2 to 5 years of experience in the environmental consulting field which includes execution and oversight of field work, particularly in the areas of hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, and industrial hygiene. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above.
