PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The purpose of the role is to lead the Crime Intelligence team and form effective relationships with Policing to deliver successful outcomes from Crime Intelligence investigations on events caused by external people in the Boots estate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Undertake monthly 1 to 1 performance meetings with team members to review their performance and discuss what development is required to maximise their potential and deliver against key performance indicators (KPI’s).
2. Take overall accountability for delivering against KPI’s, reviewing performance against them, analysing themes, and then taking action to address shortfalls in performance.
3. Monitor the quality and accuracy of the team investigations to ensure that the team has the best chance of delivering positive outcomes, ensuring coaching needs are addressed.
4. Undertake lessons learned reviews following decline decisions on Opal referrals to ensure that future referrals have a better chance of success.
5. Monitor workload across the team to ensure prioritisation of events linked to top 10% of offenders, suspects in custody, and high culpability offenders, ensuring the team attaches evidence accurately and of high quality for court prosecutions.
6. Build and maintain effective relationships with Police, Opal, and Business Crime Partners.
7. Take primary responsibility for updating the Boots management team on performance, top investigations, and responding to information requests from Boots Management.
8. Write and undertake a quarterly review of Standard Operating Practices (SOP’s) for the team to document the most effective and efficient ways of working for reference and training.
9. Take responsibility for data protection of the work undertaken by the Crime Intelligence Team, following all Boots policies to ensure compliance.
10. Lead meetings with clients and external agencies to create a singular point of contact for consistency.
11. Maintain quality control and sign off for all reports/summaries provided to the client, including but not limited to KPI updates, Offender Updates, Investigation Summaries, Safer Business Networks, Opal, and Retailers Against Crime.
12. Take ownership and respond promptly to any complaints received about work undertaken by Crime Intelligence Investigators.
13. Lead by example to instil a good working ethos amongst the team and create a positive working environment.
