Our client is a leading custom design and manufacturer in their field, selling their products to a wide range of industries across the globe. The business has been operating successfully for over 25 years, and due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. The ideal candidate would have previous experience producing 2D layouts and create the 3D parts/assemblies. Key Responsibilities:
Produce 2D manufacturing and layout drawing.
Create 3D parts and assemblies.
Maintain CAD database.
Design cost effective solutions to meet customer and technical needs.
Design solutions that are in line with manufacturer processes.
Communicate effectively and provide technical support for internal employees and external customers.
Maintain new and existing product documentation and make sure it is kept up to date.
Identify areas of improvement within the products and processes and give feedback to the design manager. Key Skills & Experience:
HNC Mechanical & Production Engineering or equivalent.
Graduates or recent apprentices.
Experience using SolidWorks.
Hold a UK Driving License – may need to travel to customer sites in the UK on occasion.
Strong problem-solving, organisation, and planning skills with an eye for detail.
Excellent communication skills both internally and with customers.
Be competent in using CAD Systems – producing both 2D and 3D outputs.
Be able to generate drawings to BS 8888
Be competent in MS Office Applications, such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Additional Information:
Monday to Friday – 8:45am-4:45pm.
