The opportunity Project: We are currently looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join our Commercial Offices team in London. This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging refurbishment and new build projects in the country as well as growing with a great team within Mace. We are looking for a proactive person who can help us meet our vision of redefining the boundaries of ambition. Experience of having worked on logistically challenging, city centre projects is an advantage, however those with construction experience on smaller projects will also be considered. Our Commercial Offices team deliver technically challenging projects in highly constricted locations across the City of London and the West End, so this is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a step up in their career. You will provide visible health and safety leadership and support to a number of projects and be part of the health and safety team implementing business policies. This role will suit a proactive person that is adept at understanding the needs of a team. You will be a great communicator with excellent interpersonal/presentation skills and an ability to present information to different audiences at project and business unit levels. Your responsibilities will include: Acting as health and safety advisor in own area, to keep projects abreast of new developments and apply professional standards to ensure best practice. Maintaining core areas of expertise and imparting knowledge to aid the development and training of others. Applying tools and techniques, defining local strategies and methods to initiate and/or implement change to improve health and safety performance. Providing health and safety advice to Mace managers and project managers to assist them in achieving business objectives. Creating, developing and maintaining internal and external relationships to maximise impact of expertise and knowledge to influence the quality of decision making. Advising on and interpreting project contractual and statutory requirements and obligations to protect the project integrity. Establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with customers, partners and suppliers to assist the achievement of business targets. Taking part in the development of the health, safety and welfare management system, its implementation and audit. Measuring and monitoring health, safety and welfare performance. Overseeing health, safety and welfare risk management, health, safety and welfare incident reporting and investigation. Providing health, safety and welfare leadership and credibility, delivering through others and building lasting relationships. Overseeing health, safety and welfare emergency preparedness and response. Supporting strategic health, safety and welfare risk management. About you You have a NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety, or equivalent. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
