We are recruiting to appoint a highly skilled Operations Manager with strong organisational and people management skills. Reporting directly to the Headteacher, the Operations Manager will provide support, leadership, strategic advice and guidance to ensure the schools meets their educational and operational aims. They will act as the Link Coordinator for both schools on the campus, collaborating with wider Trust colleagues on matters relating to Finance, HR, IT, Procurement, Estates and Catering. The successful candidate will be responsible for the line management of the office team and associated administration, the marketing and engagement manager and oversee all college events, including liaison with the catering manager on school functions. This is a demanding role which requires the successful candidate to be efficient at prioritising and managing their own workload.

Main duties and responsibilities
• Act as an advisor to Headteacher on all non-curriculum areas of school life.
• Act as key liaison for GLT Shared Services Team using the Regional Line Management model, liaise as required with Finance, HR, IT, Procurement, Estates and Catering – helping to provide seamless service and operations at all times, including meeting schedules, minutes and monitoring actions.
• Responsibility for “in-school” finance operations, which are undertaken by office team members, and liaison with GLT regional finance services.
• Liaison with Regional Estates Manager.
• Liaison with site maintenance, cleaning and Community Lettings Team for day to day management and compliance
• Health & Safety Lead; including liaison with regional estates manager on general risk assessment; ensuring accurate reporting on health and safety accident reports.
• Have oversight of First Aid training and certification, and minibus training - keeping accurate records of completion and renewal.
• Manage Plymouth City Council SLAs - ensuring they are reviewed and adopted e.g. ASC Unit, EP service, Sports SLA.
• Responsibility for liaising with Headteachers, Plymouth City Council and GLT Regional Line Management for NOR plan from LA and associated operational planning.
• Support Headteachers with production of sensitive reports and documents.
• Oversight of collation of reports and policies for the governing body meetings.
• Support Headteachers with “special projects” including DFC spend, project management, and any other non-teaching projects required.
• Line management, direction and support of the school office team and associated administration.
• Line manage the marketing and engagement manager:oversee all college events, including liaison with the catering manager on school functions.
• Coordinate the events programme within the calendar, and ensure clear lines of communication within the school and community.
• Coordinate with the Head of School CPD and professional development of non-curricular operational teams.
• Data Protection Lead includes management of Judicium audit requirements;
• Support Headteacher in emergency situations where needed e.g. closure of buildings, fire drills and evacuation procedures.
• Provide support to school leadership team on non-curricular matters
• Keyholder.
