Due to the success and growth of the company, we are now seeking a Resource Manager for our business. Role will be based in either of our UK offices (London or Bristol).
About the role: The resource manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are resourced effectively with the right capability and capacity to allow successful delivery on time and on budget. They will work closely with project and resource owners to ensure resources are assigned in an effective manner to optimise delivery and ensure we continue to build the business reflecting project needs.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Resource Allocation: Assign available staff to projects based on their skills, experience, and availability.
2. Capacity Planning: Ensure the organisation has the capacity to meet project demands by planning and managing resources effectively.
3. Monitoring Utilisation: Track and manage employee workload, utilisation, and overtime to ensure optimal productivity.
4. Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve any resource conflicts that arise during project execution with project and resource owners.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, department heads, and HR to understand resource needs and ensure timely staffing.
6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of resource allocation, utilisation reports, and other relevant documentation.
7. Process Improvement: Provide support to project managers on resource management issues and suggest improvements to resource management processes.
8. Hiring and Training: Participate in the hiring process and collaborate with HR on staff training and development.
Requirements:
1. Experience: Previous experience in resource management in a professional services business.
2. Skills:
o Proficiency in resource management software and tools, building tools where required.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
3. Key Qualities:
o Strategic Thinking: Ability to plan and allocate resources effectively to meet project goals.
o Flexibility: Adaptability to changing project demands and resource availability.
o Decision-Making: Strong decision-making skills to optimise resource utilisation and resolve conflicts.
