This role is a key operational pillar, working with over 4,000 academics to deliver £20-30 million in income annually. The Director of Consultancy and Services leads the strategic growth and management of Imperial Consultants (ICON) and Imperial Projects (IPROJ), ensuring academic expertise translates into impactful commercial solutions. By bridging cutting-edge research with industry needs, this position plays a pivotal role in strengthening Imperial’s innovation ecosystem, expanding partnerships, and driving real-world impact.
Your role will involve strategic leadership, business development, and operational oversight, ensuring that consultancy and commercial services continue to thrive as a key component of Imperial’s innovation ecosystem. You will be responsible for growing engagement, expanding partnerships, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring financial sustainability—contributing to £20-30 million in annual income.
As a trusted advisor to academics and external partners, you will identify new opportunities, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with financial, legal, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will work closely with senior leadership across the university to shape and influence Imperial’s broader strategy in industry collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
