High-tech manufacturer require a Senior Buyer. Applicants need procurement experience, ideally as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within an engineering or manufacturing business, and be confident performing operational and strategic procurement tasks. The Senior Buyer will join a small, but high-performing team of Buyers and Senior Buyers reporting to a Procurement Manager. The Senior Buyer should be a motivated, self-starter who can get the best out of suppliers and supply chain partners, while operating relatively autonomously. The procurement function continues to grow and evolve as the business expands and now is an excellent time to join. Specific duties of the Senior Buyer include: Purchase direct materials and services for manufacturing in response to MRP signals Day-to-day supply chain management activities - driving suppliers against OTD/OTIF metrics Sourcing/Tendering activities, through to negotiation and approval of new supply chain partners Monitor inventory levels Collaborate with stakeholders in production and engineering re: supplier NCR etc. Support Procurement Manager in evolution and driving new processes and efficiencies into the Procurement/Supply Chain function Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria: Previous procurement experience, ideally at Buyer or Senior Buyer level MRP/ERP experience Familiarity with the demands on procurement in a production manufacturing or engineering environment Knowledge of VMI/Kanban/LEAN techniques is advantageous Great relationship builder and team player
