Requirements:
- We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Platform Engineer who has significant experience in roles such as Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or Data Engineer. You should have a proven track record of delivering infrastructure projects as part of a team and leading technical initiatives. A deep understanding of AWS services and architecture best practices at Solutions Architect or Developer Associate level or above is essential. Strong coding skills in Python and experience with Infrastructure as Code, including CloudFormation and CDK, are also required. Additionally, you must possess excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to write clear documentation and design documents, and to present technical topics to non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities:
- In this 12-month fixed term contract, you will be responsible for managing our analytical infrastructure, primarily utilized by engineers, scientists, and economists, and supporting technically challenging projects. Your role will involve maintaining and improving our secure developer platform, which is built using various open-source solutions, including Docker, JupyterHub, CodeServer, and AWS services like custom VPC configurations, ImageBuilder for custom AMIs, Bedrock, and S3. You will suggest and implement new features and solutions to enhance our development platform, improve efficiency, and ensure a streamlined, easily maintainable stack. Furthermore, you will review and optimize our AWS Organization and Accounts setup, focusing on policies, security, networking, and cost management. You will lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, and guide the technology team in implementing cutting-edge technology strategies and solutions.
