We currently have an exciting full-time opportunity for a fully qualified Maintenance Electrician to join our facilities team in Peterborough covering three secondary schools in the city. This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
Key activities:
1. To deliver electrical PPM and reactive works across the Peterborough schools PFI contract
2. To apply trade skills to undertake scheduled, planned and reactive maintenance tasks. This will include testing of wiring to fixed electrical installations, emergency lighting and portable appliances
3. To immediately report and/or make safe any potentially dangerous or hazardous situations and escalate to line management
4. To manage own monthly workload using PDA handheld device and be familiar with Maximo or similar asset management software system
5. To ensure prompt and accurate completion of all associated paperwork
6. Participation in a rolling callout rota
Skills, qualifications and experience:
7. Previous experience in a similar role essential
8. Must hold a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant Electrical discipline with suitable industry experience; must hold 18th Edition and Test and Inspection certification
9. Possess good inter-personal skills in dealing with both customers and colleagues
10. Driving licence essential
11. Computer literate, particularly in MS Word and Excel
12. Able to obtain enhanced DBS clearance due to working in the vicinity of children
