Having been established for over a century, my client is a particularly secure company and market-leader in the manufacture of bearing technologies for a variety of industries. They believe the excellent reputation they have continued to maintain in the marketplace has been built on providing their clients with 'first class' products and the investment they make in their highly skilled workforce - who are always recognised and rewarded.
Due to further strategic expansion, an opportunity has now arisen for an Application Engineer to join them at their facility in Berkshire. In this power electronic engineering role in the European Power Semiconductor Group, you will report to the Engineering Manager and take ownership of providing technical support to their ever-growing client base.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing expert, in-depth, and responsive technical support to customers to maximise the design-in of products into customer systems.
2. Conducting testing, simulation, analysis, and reporting in the power lab to support customers and colleagues.
3. Developing close professional relationships with customer Engineers and Managers to position the organisation as their primary semiconductor partner.
4. Providing expert technical support to the sales and marketing team to maximise sales opportunity and drive sales growth.
5. Creating and presenting papers, articles, presentations, and posters in academic and industrial journals, conferences, and publications to support the awareness of the organisation as a technical leader.
6. Establishing close professional relationships with colleagues in research and development, maintaining a detailed understanding of current and future products and technology, and supporting the development of new products.
Minimum Requirements:
My client is keen to find someone with a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field and a minimum of five years' expertise in the power electronics industry, focusing on high voltage, high current semiconductor applications. You will possess excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and be at ease communicating across languages, cultures, job roles, and seniority.
In return, my client is offering an excellent salary of £30,000 - £35,000, dependent on experience. An excellent benefits package is also on offer, including 25 days holiday per year (plus Bank holidays), subsidised health care, personal accident plan, long service award, bike to work scheme, death in service benefit, and a matched pension of 5%. Overtime is also readily available for those who want it.
