We are looking for a highly-motivated Test and Production Engineer to join our growing team to support the commercialisation of the next generation of innovative neonatal monitoring systems. The role is based at SurePulse HQ in Medicity in Nottingham, with the option for hybrid working. You will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate clearly and effectively and demand the highest standards. You will have experience working with electronic and/or medical devices, including contributing to design, test and production. You will be responsible for supporting our team of engineers in developing the next generation of paediatric vital sign monitoring equipment by planning test activities, undertaking testing, interfacing with suppliers on production requirements and troubleshooting, feeding back into the design process and anything else required to ensure our products are designed and manufactured to the highest standards. Where required, the role will also include servicing of existing products. The role requires close collaboration with commercial, clinical, R&D, regulatory and manufacturing colleagues, associates and suppliers to ensure customer satisfaction and regulatory requirements are met. Objectives of this role Your aim is to help develop and maintain products at SurePulse You will work within the team of engineers aiding where is required to deliver new products and maintain existing products. You will help develop and execute tests programs to deliver high quality products, within the framework of our quality management system You will report to the Principal Engineer Responsibilities Work on problems independently and show initiative. Write and conduct tests on medical or electronic devices according to product requirements, standards and regulations. Inspection of electronic or fully assembled devices coming from customers and suppliers. Work with SMD components, building up prototypes with plastics and other materials as required, with care and attention to detail. Work with sub-contractors and suppliers to get correct parts on time. Ensure product cleanliness requirements are met by devising and validating clean working environments. Maintaining tidy, efficient and safe R&D and lab areas. Required Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Qualifications Knowledge of verification and test best practice Experience using common electronic test equipment Knowledge of schematic capture and PCB design (including creation of board files and bill of materials) Experience in the whole product cycle of medical or electronic devices, from schematic capture through to production. Experience solving problems and working independently to get tasks assigned to you delivered on time and to the highest quality. Excellent written and oral English language skills Right to work in the UK required Preferred Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Qualifications Experience working with medical devices and relevant safety standards e.g. IEC 60601-1 Operating within a quality system environment (e.g. ISO 9001 or ISO 13485) Working within E-QMS environments Knowledge of at least one programming language (python, C, C++) Package Competitive Pay.
