The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is the main provider of district general hospital services for nearly half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and mid Wales. Our main service locations are The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford and The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in Shrewsbury, which together provide 99% of our activity. Both hospitals offer a wide range of acute hospital services including accident & emergency, outpatients, diagnostics, inpatient medical care, and critical care. During 2012/13, the Princess Royal Hospital became our main specialist centre for inpatient head and neck surgery, and also for inpatient Women and Children’s services. The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital became our main specialist centre for acute surgery. Together, the hospitals have over 700 beds and assessment & treatment trolleys. We also provide community and outreach services such as outpatient clinics, midwife-led units, renal dialysis outreach, and other community services.

Overview of the role
An opportunity has arisen for experienced and enthusiastic individuals to join our Phlebotomy Team at multiple locations, working on wards, outpatients, and in the community. The main base is Telford.
We are advertising for 3 full-time posts, 37.5 hours/week, working across different sites with flexible shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. The successful candidate must have experience as a Phlebotomist, excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and previous supervisory experience.
Job responsibilities include:
* Blood collection by venepuncture from adults and children
* Accurate recording and labeling of samples
* Transporting samples to the laboratory
* Applying health and safety standards
* Maintaining a clean working environment
* Supervising team members and organizing rotas

Applicant requirements
This role requires a DBS check and evidence of qualifications, including GCSEs in Math and English, and NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. Desirable qualifications include First Aid and ECDL. The role involves working across multiple sites and requires flexibility and teamwork.
