Job Description
Our client, a leading real estate private equity fund manager, seeks an experienced Operations Manager / Vice President for its London office.
Reporting directly into the CFO, the role will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, optimising processes, ensuring quality control, and assisting the teams to achieve organisational goals.
This is a newly created position, with exposure to and interaction with senior members of the firm on a global basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Operational Management:
* Design and execute day-to-day operational activities, ensuring seamless execution across departments.
* Design, implement, and refine workflows and processes to enhance efficiency.
* Collaborate with finance, investment, and asset management teams to support project lifecycle activities.
* Consistent implementation of policies and employee benefits across European office.
* Standardise onboarding processes and draft and implement employee handbook.
* Involved in administrative decision making.
2. Risk Management:
* Ensure all operational activities comply with legal, regulatory, and corporate policies.
* Manage risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with senior management.
* Design a three lines of defence risk framework and lead on ISAE implementation (if required).
* Manage and design an insurance portfolio across the company and investment vehicles.
3. Data & Reporting:
* Design, develop and deliver regular operational and performance reports to management.
* Work with Finance, Deal and Asset Management teams to assist in improving efficiency of the planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.
4. Technology & Systems:
* Manage, review, and optimise software platforms across business units.
* Recommend and implement technological solutions to improve efficiency.
* Work together with other offices on IT infrastructure and support within Europe.
5. Team Coordination & Communication:
* Act as the central point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders regarding operational matters.
* Provide guidance and support to junior team members to foster a high-performance culture.
The successful candidate will have 5 to 8+ years of relevant experience, with one of the following backgrounds:
* Operations department of a real estate investment, private equity, or asset management firm.
* Management consulting (operations, strategy, or private equity).
* Accounting (consulting, strategy, or possibly financial due diligence).
* Fund or corporate administration (operations).
Proficiency in the use and implementation of operational and financial software (e.g., Excel, Yardi, Argus, or equivalent tools) is essential.
Salary is dependent on experience, but up to an absolute maximum of £100,000. The successful candidate will also be eligible to company benefits, which includes participation in the firm’s discretionary, performance-related bonus scheme.
The firm is not offering visa sponsorship for this position, so the successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to work in the UK unrestricted.
