Job Requirements
1. Support and/or lead design activities for Reactor Island systems and safety measures through to Final Concept Definition and, potentially, the early stages of Detailed Design.
2. Support a range of activities and own cross-cutting tasks that enable continuous improvement of system design processes/procedures.
3. Communicate effectively, engaging routinely with a wide range of design stakeholders, and adhering to governance processes, including gated design and decision reviews.
4. Produce design documentation, including the System Design Description, P&ID, Functional Bill of Materials, Requirement Definitions, Decision Records, and Design Calculations.
5. Have a robust understanding of relevant thermodynamic and fluid mechanic phenomena as the design of SA systems is derived from analysis.
6. Understand phenomena such as conjugate heat transfer, multi-species dispersion, two-phase (steam-water) flows, choked flows, pressure relieving processes, sparging, and incompressible pressure loss calculations.
Work Experience
1. Experience of process engineering principles.
2. Experience of pressure drop/fluid flow and component sizing calculations.
3. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or chemistry, or equivalent.
4. Effective presenter with good reporting writing skills.
