Job Description Location: London, GB The Role British Vogue is seeking an experienced writer and editor with an established background in beauty and wellness to join its award-winning team. Responsible for publishing roughly four original articles per week, the successful candidate will also be comfortable handling multiple stories at once, at various stages of the pitch-to-publish process (assigning one story to a writer, fact-checking another, researching reporting for one, restructuring a draft of another), whilst also editing and managing syndications from Vogue’s successful and traffic-driving global network. You’ll write, assign, and edit timely content and have a strong scientific literacy, as well as a deep understanding of what evidence and sourcing are necessary to write and edit accurate, well-thought out conversational articles about trending health topics across all aspects of physical and mental wellbeing, handling every story with nuance and care. What will you be doing? Writing, editing, commissioning and publishing beauty and wellness stories for Vogue’s digital platforms, from daily news hits to larger features and exclusives. Managing and editing online syndications from Vogue’s global network. The right candidate will be a meticulous editor able to finesse translated copy and ensure all syndicated articles meet the requirements of British Vogue ’s style guide and tone of voice. Contributing ideas to and writing for print where necessary. Contributing to the social, digital and video strategy for Vogue, whether ideating on projects, helping to propose or secure talent (in conjunction with The Talent Group) or feature in the content directly. Understanding and building commercial relationships, working with the revenue teams on special projects whenever necessary. Being in touch with the industry and feeding back to the team to build relationships, secure editorial exclusives and ensure that Vogue remains at the forefront of the beauty and wellness conversation. Staying abreast of any and all industry developments and news to ensure that our coverage of beauty and wellness across print and digital is both informed and unique. Who you are: Extensive experience in a beauty and wellness editorial role, writing copy and commissioning and editing colleagues. A flair for storytelling and a proven track record of identifying trends and topics to cover - and the best way in which to write and engage with our audience. Highly skilled at building stories and editing at speed within a CMS. An understanding of the importance of SEO in journalism, and how to use it effectively in everything from body copy to headlines. An entrepreneurial mind-set, with a focus on new opportunities for stories and areas for audience growth. Strong interpersonal communications skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across myriad departments and differing levels of seniority. A thorough understanding of the Vogue brand and Condé Nast. Experience of working closely with business teams to identify and collaborate on revenue-generating projects, whether commercial or consumer. A comprehensive contacts book, encompassing everything from beauty PRs to blockbuster contributors.
